Founder

Bernadette Miller, MS, LMHC

Bernadette Miller is a native New Mexican, grew up and married her first boyfriend in Albuquerque and had her first and only child Charles Anthony Miller in 1995. Mrs. Miller holds her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and undergraduate degree in Business Management. Bernadette is affiliated with the American Counseling Association, and the New Mexico Counseling Association.
Mrs. Miller lost her only child March 11, 2017 to fentanyl poisoning from a synthetic opiate. Mrs. Miller volunteers as a key speaker in our community for numerous City, State, and Federal organizations. Joy Junction, Operation Hope, Healing Addiction in our Community (HAC), Albuquerque Public Schools PIP (Parent Involvement Program), The Department of Justice- DOJ- (Documentary) Department of Health – DOH-(Another way NM), Wake up New Mexico, New Mexico 360 and the Drug Enforcement Administration DEA (Drugs: Costs, and Consequences), Voices for Non-Opioid Choices, The Mark Walberg Foundation (Drug free is up to me), Sam Quinone’s Dream land entry, Serenity Mesa Recovery Center, and the Power Endorphin Company.
Bernadette is a resilient individual, that believes educating and bringing awareness to our community is the answer to our opiate crisis. Bernadette specializes in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Bipolar disorder. Bernadette also works closely with our legal system, children’s youth and family’s department, and private attorneys.  Bernadette is affiliated with the American Counseling Association (ACA),  the New Mexico Counseling Association (NMMHCA) and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).

Clinical Supervisor | Licensed Clinician

Red (Rose) Wolfenbarger, MA, LPCC

Red is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.  Red earned her Master of Arts in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. Red specializes in bereavement, loss, aging, PTSD,  and working with teens and empaths. Red is the meeting facilitator for Empaths Unite, and has over 20 years of experience working with teens and children in the girl scouts.

Elizabeth Ewins, MA, LPCC

Elizabeth is a Licenced Professional Clinical Counselor. Elizabeth earned her Masters in Psychology at Antioch University Seattle. Elizabeth trained as an educator and taught with APS for 12 years. Elizabeth completed her drug and alcohol certification and has worked as an assessment counselor.  Elizabeth has worked with adolescents and adults with substance and behavioral issues. In addition, she has worked with  substance and behavioral abuse, trauma resolution, self-esteem and authenticity issues, mild brain injuries and other issues impacting daily functioning, including employment and education. Elizabeth uses a variety of modalities such as EMDR, RET, CBT, developmental, and post-inductive therapies. 

cOUNSELING iNTERN

Ryan Tingley, Counseling Intern

Ryan is a counseling intern from the University of New Mexico. He is in his final semester of Graduate school seeking his LMHC by the summer of 2022. He is a military veteran, firefighter and EMT who focuses on providing an empathetic space to help people process and understand trauma. He  utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavioral approach.  He has worked with adolescents and children with developmental disabilities. Ryan uses a strengths based counseling approach to support clients through a multitude of internal and external conflicts such as; anxiety, depression, attachment, behavior, and complex trauma. 

Licensed Clinician

Sarah Shah, MA, LMHC

Sarah is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She earned her Master’s in counseling from the University of New Mexico in 2018.  Sarah uses evidence-based and trauma-informed techniques pulled from behavior management, mindfulness and relaxation, narrative therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing, among others. Sarah has experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment issues, developing parenting skills, improving communication, seeking meaning in life, career concerns, work/life balance, managing addiction behaviors, developing and maintaining healthy boundaries, grief and loss, transitions, and behavior management. 

Office Manager

April Williams

April is our Office Manager. April is an Army veteran who has been in the administration field for over 15 years. April has a degree  in Medical Assisting and is currently attending school for her Bachelors in Business Management. April is ASAM and HIPAA trained to ensure that the clients we see are  ethically supported from the moment they schedule a meeting.
